If you are not familiar with these and are new to this site, then you have missed out on one of the funnest things we do. The Power Poll and Heisman are voted on by five voters. Each voter is a member of our forums. The voters who represent the south are Wil(OSU) and myself(OU). The north voters are Blackshirts(NU), Zou-Rah(MU), and CUFan1982(CU). I made this group specifically for three reasons. One, no one team was favored by more than one voter. Two, all of the teams are a rival of another in one fashion or another. Lastly, each member represents some of our original posters. They have been around for awhile.
In this article I plan to give you the votes as a collective. Then I plan to list how each person voted in both the Heisman and in the Power Poll.
It's time for a quick break from my series on coaches of the Big XII, because I'm stumped as to whom I should write about next. So instead, I've turned my focuses to the crazy year that has been in the Big XII.
At the beginning of the year, the so-called experts had come out with predictions of how teams would perform and which players would live up to the hype.
Sam Keller was dubbed the preseason Newcomer of the Year on offense. Colt McCoy was named preseason Player of the Year on offense.
Have either of those lived up to expectations?
Missouri and Nebraska were 1-2 respectively in the North, with Kansas picked 4th before the season. Texas was the preseason pick to win the South, with Texas A&M receiving a vote as well.
But needless to say, this crazy season has left a few scratching their heads, including myself.
A lot of things that have gone on this year have left many, and definitely myself, wondering, "Who would've thought?"
