NCAA Tournament Preview: #2 Oklahoma vs #15 Morgan State

South Regional Matchup

Thursday

No. 2 Oklahoma (27-5) vs. No. 15 Morgan State (20-13)

Time/Site: 9:40 EDT/Kansas City

The winner gets: The winner of Michigan-Clemson

Summary: The Sooners, who were ranked No. 2 at one time, finished second in the Big 12. Morgan State won the MEAC regular season and conference tournament titles under former embattled Cal coach Todd Bozeman.

Key Players: Oklahoma – Blake Griffin (21.9 ppg, 14.3 rpg), F; Willie Warren (14.3 ppg), G. Morgan State – Reggie Holmes (16.9 ppg), G; Marquise Kately (11.0 ppg)

Key Stat: Oklahoma – Griffin shoots 63 percent from the field and 59 percent from the free throw line. Morgan State – The Bears have committed 66 more turnovers than assists.

Oklahoma will win: If they can get some improved guard play. Inconsistency has been a problem for the Sooners in that area. Plus, they just aren’t the same since Griffin went out with a concussion Feb. 21 against Texas.

Morgan State will win: If Griffin, Warren and the rest of the Sooners play the worst game they can play.

Prediction: Oklahoma 77, Morgan State 54
