Texas crushes Oklahoma State

The Texas Longhorns (8-0/5-0) have hit their stride at the right time of year. The Longhorns went into their toughest stretch of the season having to face Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State away from Austin and came away with three victories. The last of these victories came this weekend in a 41-14 pasting of Oklahoma State. The Longhorns offense just has to be efficient and not turn the ball over and they will run the table to the national championship game. That is how good their defense is playing this year. The Longhorns defense came up with two more touchdowns on five turnovers.

The Cowboys came in with troubles on offense missing two of their best players in Kendall Hunter and Dez Bryant and it showed. Zac Robinson had virtually no help when he needed it in the early going and ended up playing his worse game of the season throwing four interceptions. The Oklahoma State defense did not get burned but were put in bad positions all night long with the five turnovers from their offense.

Although the Texas offense was held under 300 yards for the second time in its laast three games that was more a result of their big lead. Colt McCoy was efficient totaling 205 yards and throwing an 11 yard touchdown pass to Malcolm Williams, which was his 100th career passing touchdown. Jordan Shipley also caught six balls for 62 yards.

The Longhorns have now won the last 12 of their meetings against Oklahoma State, all under Coach Mack Brown.

Texas is now through their toughest stretch of the season. They will have to be careful of a letdown. They will be overwhelming favorites the rest of the season.

Next up the Longhorns will finally go home for their first home game in a month to face Central Florida.
