Kansas vs. MissouriThe Border War Arrowhead Stadium November 28th 3:30 ET The 2009 version of the Border War doesn’t have as much on the line as expected. The 5-6 Jayhawks limp into the game having lost six in a row with Head Coach Mark Mangino under fire. The Tigers are 3-1 in their last four games and are bowl eligible coming into the game at 7-4. The Jayhawks were expected to win the Big 12 North but haven’t come close to living up to expectations. QB Todd Reesing has been effective throwing for 3,118 yards and 18 touchdowns on the season. Junior WR Dezmon Briscoe has had another impressive season hauling in 70 balls for 1,095 and 7 touchdowns. Both will need to have a monster day to keep the Jayhawks in the game.
For the Tigers first year starting QB Blaine Gabbert has played very well. Gabbert has completed 60% of his passes for 2,999 yards and 22 scores. Senior WR Danario Alexander is having his best season with 1,411 yards and 12 TDs. In their last game, a 34-24 victory over Iowa State, Alexander hauled in 11 passes for 173 yards and a score. Prediction: This will be an intense game with the crowd split evenly at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas looks to end the season on a positive note with controversy surrounding Mangino due to allegations of improper treatment of his players. The Tigers would like to end the season at 8-4 and improve their bowl resume. Reesing will make some plays but it won’t be enough to keep up with Gabbert and Alexander. Missouri 41 Kansas 30
